I’m an Ubuntu user who supports the community effort to spread Ubuntu. I frequent the Ubuntu forums and try to help as many as I can with links to relevant information or with what’s worked on my machines. I love using Ubuntu, trying out new software, and helping out others who are discovering free software and linux-based OSes.
I’m a member of LinuxChix. I subscribe to the mailing lists and also frequent the IRC rooms.
I am a social-network user. I love using social networks, networking, chatting and sending messages between myself and others on the web. Feel free to join me on any of the ones listed on the profiles page. Status.net is the one I use the most. I also “miniblog” on Tumblr.

FAQ
I’ve had some people ask me questions about various things. I’m going to put them down here so I can just link to it.
Q: What games do you play?
Many. Everything from Mario to Tetris to Pokemon. I love my Nintendo DS, my Nintendo Wii, and my Windows 7 install. I’ve been into indie games recently, like Osmos. Also stuff like The Sims, some CounterStrike (sometimes), StarCraft, Balder’s Gate (1 and 2), and Diablo 2.
I also like board and card games: Monopoly, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Fluxx, Uno, Yahtzee, etc.
And, I can’t forget pencil and paper RPGs: Dungeons and Dragons, RIFTs, Gurps, etc.
Q: How’d you get your username?
It’s actually a yahoo name I snapped up. I was tired of my old yahoo name, and wanted something different. I wanted gamerchick because that seemed to fit who I was, but it was taken. Since it was 2002 at the time, I added an “02” on the end, and there we go.
Q: What operating system do you use?
Ubuntu, though I’ve used several different distros, notably OpenSuse, Crunchbang, Zenwalk, Xubuntu, Kubuntu, Mint, and Debian. I prefer Ubuntu because it works for me and I like the community that’s grown from it.
I also have a Windows 7 install for gaming and for keeping up on my Windows skills.
Q: What’s your userpic of?
It’s the Ubuntu logo, that I’ve changed into penguins. You can see their little eyes and bills. I did it in the Gimp.
Q: Fandoms?
This question. Ok, here we go.
- JAG, my first ever show that I fell in love with. I ship Harm/Mac. Also, David James Elliott is mega-hot, especially in his dress whites. *ahem*
- Harry Potter. No shipping, but I’m a fangirl.
- CSI. GSR all the way.
- CSI:NY. I try not to miss episodes.
- Sherlock Holmes. My most recent, which is strange, considering this one is probably the oldest. I generally ship Holmes/Watson. This was my first foray into slash.
- Inspector Lynley. I’m a Lynley/Havers shipper.
- NCIS. I generally ship Tony/Ziva and Gibbs/Abby. I don’t see a lot of slash coming out of that show.

Maybe. Probably not. I should know you from something else before I add you to my chat client. I’m generally a little wary of people adding me on chat protocols. I hate blocking people, but I have in the past.
